An Offering of Healing in a Group Setting
Rooted in Self: An IFS Group for High Achievers & Those Who Fell Like They Aren’t Enough
This group is for anyone who identifies as a high achiever. Maybe you’re a perfectionist, maybe you have been striving and striving to get where you are going and still can’t seem to reach whatever it is you’re searching for. Maybe you have a hard time saying no and end up feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Many of us feel like we just aren’t good enough or are never going to measure up to that voice in our head saying more education, more certifications, more trainings, or that you are an imposter. In this group you will get to know those voices and gain a new understanding into what they are trying to push you to do.
This group will teach you what parts work is and how to work with your parts. We will do group exercises as well as creative and expressive exercises that allow you to understand and even befriend those parts.
This group is offered in person and virtually at 1015 S. Compton Ave. Babes in arms are welcomed, because sometimes life happens.
Fridays 3-4pm starting Sept. 25th $50 per session with a limited number of accessible seats
Womb Wounds to Wholeness: A Pregnancy and Birth Trauma Processing Group
This group is for parents whose births didn’t go to plan. Maybe things moved too quickly and you didn’t feel heard. Maybe you or your baby experienced medical complications. You might find yourself still feeling anxious or having a hard time sleeping( when baby lets you). Or maybe a noise or a smell takes you back to what happened like you’re still back there. You might be questioning yourself your providers or the whole world.
Being postpartum is not easy. There is a steep learning curve with each new baby, and feeling like you can’t move past the birth even though everyone tells you, “at least you have a baby” doesn’t help.
This group is for postpartum parents who need a space to process what happened with other people who get it. This group is mixes group EMDR, Brainspotting, and IFS/Parts work to help you gain new insights into what you experienced so that you don’t have to keep carrying it with you.

I’ve been providing psychotherapy for the last 9 years while focusing on trauma for all of it. I’ve trained as a doula, lactation counselor and am a mother myself. I see that you have been trying your hardest, and it’s okay that you need a little help. You don’t have to work through what happened alone.

About IFS, EMDR, and Brainspotting
Alyssa utilizes a combination of Internal Family Systems, Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing, and Brainspotting in her clinical practice. IFS or Parts work is a framework used to understand the parts of the Self. Types of parts include managers, firefighters, and exiles. Similar to ego-states work and inner child work, Parts work is a helpful way to deepen one’s relationship with ones’ self. EMDR and Brainspotting are modalities or tools that help with the processing of traumatic memories. Each adds its own benefit to the healing process. For more information follow the links below

F.A.Q
How is Group different from Individual Therapy?
While many are nervous about group therapy, it is an amazing space to heal in community. Many people are used to keeping things to themselves, whether for fear of being a burden or negative responses. But in a therapy group, everyone is there with similar goals, to heal, grow, and or change their existing ways of doing things. Instead of just the therapist providing feedback, you can hear from other participants how they hear and perceive you. Life today is very isolating, and in a group you get the opportunity to grow a community and show up as yourself without the confines of the roles the people in your life have already assigned you.
Will I have to talk?
Short answer, yes. While the trauma processing group has less emphasis on sharing, talking to some extend will help you to get the most out of the group experience. Everything is challenge by choice and there will be opportunities to work in dyads and small groups. No one ever has to share more than they are comfortable with, and group can be a great place to practice boundaries and skills that might be hard to do out in life.
What is shared in the group, stays in the group, but how is that enforced?
Unlike with individual therapy, there is not the same rules requiring confidentiality. It is in each member’s best interest to keep the specifics of what they hear to themselves since they will likely also be sharing vulnerable information. Ideally, wisdom insight, and personal reflections and feelings are meant to leave the group, detailed stories are meant to stay within the group. We rely on each person honoring confidentiality. If someone is not keeping information to themselves, participants are encouraged to contact the therapist. Participants are also not allowed to be on each other’s social media until after the group is completed.
Are reduced-fee spots available
